Daniel,

Thank you for your kind words. You are absolutely right, the only way anyone makes a difference is one person at a time. The problems in Haiti are too big for one person to solve, but if a LOT of 1 persons get involved, we can make a difference.

Thank you for participating in Blog Action Day and referencing some great examples of how anyone and everyone can make a difference! While I agree that reading blogs isn’t going to end poverty, raising the awarness of our generation about how they can get involved is absolutely key. If you’re looking for more information on global poverty, including how our generation can achieve the Millennium Development Goals - eight globally endorsed objectives that address the many aspects of extreme poverty - in Africa by 2015, check out our site at www.millenniumpromise.org. You can go to the Get Involved page to learn about the different ways you can make a real difference in to people around the world by supporting the Millennium Villages project. The project, in brief, uses a holistic, integrated and community-led approach to provide tools and resources for interventions in agriculture, education, health and infrastructure, this helping rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa lift themselves out of extreme poverty. By combining the best scientific and local knowledge, Millennium Villages address all the major problems of extreme poverty simultaneously to assist communities on their way to self-sustainable development. Currently, the project reaches 80 villages in 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and is achieving incredible results! So again, thank you for getting involved and keep up the good work!

HI all.
KivaB4B is contributing $10,000 to support Blog Action Day. KivaB4B is a new partnership between Kiva and Advanta Bank that lets you double the loans you make through Kiva, up to $200/month. It's a very cool program. Check it out at KivaB4B.org. There's also a very unique affiliate program they offer to blogs and other sites. There's a description on the blog, http://b4bcommunity.org/2008/08/the-kiva-affiliate-program-hel.html
